I am an award-winning author and historian from the Sacramento region who earned both BA and MA degrees from Sacramento State University and a Ph.D. in United States History from the University of California at Berkeley.
I have taught courses in U.S. History and historical research methodology & writing at the University of California at Berkeley, Sacramento State University, and American River College. I now write full time from my home office; situated overlooking the American River Parkway, the inspiration could not be better.
In my writing, I draw inspiration from ordinary people who did extraordinary things.
I am also a heritage tourism enthusiast. The National Trust for Historic Preservation defines heritage tourism as “traveling to experience the places, artifacts, and activities that authentically represent the stories and people of the past and present” (https://www.achp.gov/heritage_tourism). Heritage tourism is a fabulous way to gain appreciation for and get a sense of what life was like in the past. Click on the Heritage Tourism link above to check out my HT blog posts.
