I am an award-winning author and historian from the Sacramento region. I earned both BA and MA degrees from Sacramento State University and a Ph.D. in United States History from the University of California at Berkeley.
My nonfiction articles on the history of childhood have appeared in the Pacific Historical Review, Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth, and the Annals of Iowa. For fifteen years, I taught courses in U.S. History and historical writing at the University of California at Berkeley, Sacramento State University, and American River College. I now write full time from my home office; situated overlooking the American River Parkway, the inspiration could not be better.
In my writing, I draw inspiration from ordinary people who do extraordinary things.
